These posts have circulated misinformation and unfounded allegations, often misrepresenting her statements or actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Media Posts&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social media is currently abuzz with claims that Hassana Segu Issadeen, a legal counsellor, has been appointed to a newly created position as &#8220;Special Secretary&#8221; by the Prime Minister. Many posts mock the alleged creation of this unconventional position, suggesting that it is fabricated or unnecessary. We investigated these claims to verify their authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Prime Minister, along with her newly appointed &quot;Special Secretary,&quot; Senior Legal Counsel Hasana Segu Issadeen. No reports or announcements were found that corroborated the existence of such a position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Contact with Prime Minister\u2019s Office<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To clarify the situation, we reached out to Vijitha Basnayake, the Media Secretary to the Prime Minister. According to Ms. Basnayake, Hassana Segu Issadeen is indeed a member of the Prime Minister\u2019s personal staff.
