We could also see another phone in the background at the end of the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXekGPKiB3T86zpSk39rKhsHk6KOoIKK2XyfHBWvsm5dgvez7srN01A323kdOhUbh99xSuctfnKNoMXy34iBYdnxhUjumB52GZteB9KUyXpRS_SGVq355Eo966MwCsiv773zyn-ghnESEWveYFIaeCJijbmJJjXnhm6OEb8gw5G8BZEfgsHe1VM?key=70U6E2KK65lwFV4cCJhdHuZg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The root cause behind this video was that a meeting was held on the 18<sup>th<\/sup> of July 2022 between Mr. Sajith Premadasa and the representatives of the \u2018Aragalaya\u2019 at the office of the opposition leader in Colombo. During that meeting the opposition leader made a special statement that neither he or his party nor his alliance has ever betrayed the demands of the people of the \u2018Aragalaya\u2019, and that it will not happen in the future as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It appears that Rathindu Senarathne or Ratta who is featured in the shared video has also participated in this meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, we had to contact then&nbsp; media secretary of the opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa to get the details of the scenes posted on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media Secretary of the opposition leader, Mr. Sajith Premadasa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Ranjith Kumara, then media secretary of the Sajith Premadasa stated that several monks also participated in the meeting to meet the activists of the \u2018Aragalaya\u2019, and a series of video footage taken after the meeting have been edited inappropriately to spread a blatant lie against the opposition leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were also given the original video clip at the occasion, which showcased that there is a Buddhist monk beside Ratta and that Sajith Premadasa is bowing down and worshiping the Buddhist monk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When examining the video given by the Media Secretary of the opposition leader, we found that the video clip was cut in half leaving out the background part where the Buddhist monk was captured, while being played on a certain screen, and recorded only a part to make the misleading video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is a comparison of footage taken from the angle of the original video and the misleading recreated video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@factcrescendosl\/video\/7121780005524229377\" data-video-id=\"7121780005524229377\" data-embed-from=\"oembed\" style=\"max-width:605px; min-width:325px;\"> <section> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"@factcrescendosl\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@factcrescendosl?refer=embed\">@factcrescendosl<\/a> <p>Did Sajith really worship Ratta?
