We took steps to investigate the credibility of this claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Media Posts :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video has been circulating on social media, purportedly portraying Sri Lanka\u2019s new cargo plane with a caption implying the meaning <strong>\u201cWhen I see someone bringing goods from abroad to Sri Lanka\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe frameBorder='0' width='640' height='360' webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen src=\"https:\/\/www.awesomescreenshot.com\/embed?id=42040921&#038;shareKey=09901ad4ec9c5fae8fb470a816ff3e66\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/reel\/1256961195874733\">Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We did a fact check regarding this claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fact Check<\/strong><strong> :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The circulated video shows the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbus.com\/en\/products-services\/commercial-aircraft\/freighter\/beluga\">Beluga XL<\/a>, a large transport aircraft, so we checked whether mainstream media have reported on the import of the Beluga XL to Sri Lanka for cargo transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As none of the mainstream media outlets have reported on this news, we also checked the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/srilankan-cargo\/posts\/\">official social media platforms<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.srilankancargo.com\/products\/special-services\">website<\/a> of Sri Lankan Cargo, the cargo division of Sri Lankan Airlines. However, they haven\u2019t mentioned any news reports regarding it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On their website the list of Airbuse aircraft used for cargo transport can be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accordingly, the Airbus currently used for cargo transportation is as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus A330-300<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus A330-200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus A320 \/ A320 Neo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Airbus A321 Neo \/ A321<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXf-KpEjewSkxrMHdut-1TLDHCh-jnohWL9vRlEKgHGaV3lJqfbFBA9PwrRg270TXJ-KZ4npGrgABq0J2TtXsdXwwMDwVqNuCjaMG65unVesjTVPmYrGx2OeleBrPEZJmLBMrKmUBd3EkqAMc_lhruw?key=rd9ryo3ctvF5F_-_12rlwA\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned, it is clear that there is no mention of a Beluga XL transport aircraft used for cargo transport, as mentioned in the video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also contacted Sri Lankan Airlines\u2019 Media Spokesperson, Deepal Perera, to confirm this, and he stated that the above video has been generated using AI and that there is no such cargo plane in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Lankan Cargo is rapidly expanding its modern Airbus fleet and currently operates with 22 aircraft, including 7 A330-300 ,&nbsp; 3 A330-200,&nbsp; 5 A320 , 1 A321 , 2 A320 Neo and 4 A321 Neo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sri Lankan Cargo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sri Lankan Air Cargo offers convenient connectivity to a global network of 37 destinations across 21 countries in Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, China, and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the airline&#8217;s inception in 1979, Sri Lankan Cargo has continued to support the country&#8217;s rapidly growing export industry. Providing a convenient one-stop service to any destination in the world, customers can deliver their personal items, samples and gift items weighing up to 100 kilograms. The Airbus Beluga is specifically designed to easily transport large cargo that traditional air transport methods cannot transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This plays a fundamental role in maintaining the continuity of the Airbus production process.
