Many viral photos saying \u201cMr. Bean has just passed away\u201d were posted recently on Facebook and other social media platforms. It was reshared and reacted to with many mixed comments and was consumed as a real incident by many Facebook users. However, after clarifying with his official agent we were able to clarify that the viral claims were yet another death hoax on the world-famous famous British Comedian. Lets look at the social media posts.Let’s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Media Claim<\/strong>s<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 23, 2021, one of the Facebook pages called \u201cO Dear<\/a>\u201d posted a photo attached with the text claiming \u201cRest In Peace\u201d on the portrait photo of a famous comedy actor, Rowan Sebastian Atkinson or famously known as \u201cMr. Bean\u201d. The description went on to say that the 1955 born English actor, comedian and writer is best known for his work on the sitcoms Blackadder (1983\u20131989) and Mr. Bean (1990\u20131995). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a screenshot captured from the Facebook page with the caption in English saying \u201cR.I.P sir Rowan Sebastian \u201cMr.bean\u201d Atkinson Born: January 6,1995-Died: November 22, 2021<\/em>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, this claim was widely spread by many Facebook pages and users. The photo attached with the claim that \u201che has passed away\u201d is also seen in a Facebook page called \u201cAgaba Francis Page<\/a>\u201d which was posted last morning.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another series of posts<\/a> suggested that Rowan Atkinson has died after suffering a serious health condition that has shocked fans around the world, with the popular comedian unlikely ever to be seen on screen again, accompanied by purported images of the actor being bedridden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact Check<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka had started to check and verify this claim directly by clarifying with his official agent and checking with reliable sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had contacted the official agent of Rowan, PBJ management regarding this viral claim. \u201cPBJ Management\u201d  rejected that viral claim and clearly stated that  \u201cWe can safely say that Mr Atkinson is absolutely fine<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rowan Atkinson, also known as Mr Bean around the world, has become a target of death hoax a couple times already. We have found that just a few months earlier in late May, 2021, there was a similar claim also stating \u201che has passed away\u201d as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reemergence of the fake Tweets could be one of the reasons for spreading this rumor. This fake news, named as FOX breaking news, has been emerging a few times since a few years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also noticed that a few of the news publishers and fan pages had published posts about Mr. Bean being featured in the upcoming sixth season of Peaky Blinders series as seen\u00a0here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, using AI image detection tools we were able to ascertain that the images of Mr Bean being bed ridden were also AI generated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
