WikiLeaks came to international attention in 2010 when it published a series of&nbsp;leaks&nbsp;provided by&nbsp;U.S. Army&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Intelligence_analysis\">intelligence analyst<\/a>&nbsp;Chelsea Manning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fact Check-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We started our investigation by running a keyword search on Google to find relevant news reports. However, we could not find any report that corroborated the same.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, we visited Time\u2019s website where we found that <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/person-of-the-year-2021-elon-musk\/\">TIME Magazine<\/a> has announced Elon Musk as the \u201cPerson of the Year\u201d for 2021. They also streamed this video in December 2021.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"TIME Person of the Year 2021: Elon Musk\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IZPBYS_8rzE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/person-of-the-year-2021-elon-musk\/\">Time<\/a> has also posted the cover of the magazine on their website, which can be seen below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"933\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1951\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image.jpeg 700w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Several media organizations have also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/elon-musk-named-times-2021-person-year-2021-12-13\/\">reported<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/world\/us\/elon-musk-named-time-magazines-person-of-the-year\/articleshow\/88267210.cms\">same<\/a> that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was named as the \u201cPerson of the Year\u201d by Time\u2019s Magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"543\" height=\"454\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9.png 543w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/image-9-300x251.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, we also went through the <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/vault\/subject\/person-of-the-year\/\">archives<\/a> of the previous year\u2019s Magazine covers for TIME but we could not find the same cover showing Julian Assange. Thus, it is clear that the viral image on social media is digitally edited. TIME Magazine has not announced Julian Assange as the \u2018Person of the Year\u2019. The image is digitally created.
