Shared alongside several photo stills said to show her at the pageant, the post drew heavy debate among a large number of users. But is the woman in these images really a Sri Lankan teacher? We investigated. If such an incident had genuinely involved a local schoolteacher, information about her would almost certainly have surfaced on social media, yet we found none. So, we ran the photos that supposedly showed a local teacher at the modelling pageant through a <em>reverse image search<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Woman in the Photo Is a Young Woman from Guatemala<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reverse search led us to a short Facebook video carrying the same stills shared on social media. The video shows the same young woman described as a local teacher. But it identifies her as \u201cOur Queen Monja Blanca 2026\u20132027,\u201d names her as Jeyme Stefany Hernandez Reina, and gives her region as San Juan Chamelco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1010164928088474%2F&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=267&#038;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"476\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/1010164928088474\">Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the same Facebook account, we also found a video in which she introduces herself, speaking in Spanish, in connection with the pageant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F4559650061028691%2F&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=267&#038;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"476\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/4559650061028691\">Facebook<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In it, she states her hometown and identity, saying she comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1436847595127517&amp;set=a.346576930821261\">San Juan Chamelco<\/a> in Alta Verapaz, a town with a living Indigenous culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She adds that she is 25 years old and holds a technical degree in social work from Universidad Rafael Landivar and that her main goal is to proudly represent her beloved San Juan Chamelco and bring it recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accordingly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jyme_stefany\/\">she<\/a> states that she is a young woman living in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1045073951198314&amp;set=a.232722349100149\">San Juan Chamelco<\/a> area of Guatemala, a Central American country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Checking this young woman\u2019s Facebook account, we also found that she had shared videos of other moments from the same pageant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jeyme.stefany\/posts\/pfbid02uZrnDTpk3f55VHhWFJgmwqeNiP9SFTavP5eA9TbQ5R1PoDCzqBpsxqscJWkv1Paal\">like this<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jeyme.stefany\/posts\/pfbid0341mv3PvcsXETMsZELrPhjvSBP5c5HJRTF6RW2rZAM4KaYpx5AC4Rje9keFECLA6fl\">this<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jeyme.stefany\/posts\/pfbid02Mtj5Ex2sB8Md7yJVkddyD2kivUKL2dLY17NCD4dhehFg253hN4nxWPB4sEArNkXol\">this<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Pageant Said to Be Held in Malaysia Was Actually Held in Guatemala<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jeyme Stefany took part in the \u201cNuestra Belleza Monja Blanca 2026\u20132027\u201d beauty pageant, organised on 11 July 2026 by the Municipality of Coban (Municipalidad de Coban) in the Alta Verapaz province of Guatemala. Contrary to what social media claimed, this was not a pageant held in Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pageant is named after \u201cMonja Blanca\u201d (the white orchid), Guatemala\u2019s national flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Coban municipality officially announced the call for applications for the pageant, with one representative from each of the 17 municipalities of Alta Verapaz, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Municipalidaddecoban\/posts\/pfbid0BUaR31jnsE62xMFbEZoHCR7dWCZtbiq4EiYEm827MDW5WzdV28JhBwck2BoXVPBUl\">like this<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1573819810918380\">15 young women<\/a> representing municipalities of Alta Verapaz entered the pageant, and among the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jilseuso\/posts\/pfbid0261kt3rMSERMNGgSpKg1CRRdq4d5qvyUVfcpzUhdqG6iRGDhgzNWUe1LWyuEjTs66l\">six finalists<\/a> who reached the final round was Jeyme Stefany Hernandez Reina. The regions the six finalists represented were as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Lisbeth Maria Alejandra Ramirez Lima<\/strong> \u2013 represented Cahabon and won the crown this year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maria de los Angeles de la Cruz Quej<\/strong> \u2013 Santa Cruz, Verapaz.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Joselyn Alexandra Coy Teni<\/strong> \u2013 Coban.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adriana Sarahi Paz Munoz<\/strong> \u2013 Fray Bartolome de las Casas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DaGL-KClv6L\/\"><strong>Jeyme Stefany Hernandez Reina<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 San Juan Chamelco.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mia Belen Garcia Caal<\/strong> \u2013 La Tinta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This confirms that the event was a beauty pageant held within Guatemala and that no one took part in it representing any other country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A photo set showing these contestants presenting themselves in swimwear, which formed the basis of the viral social media post, can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Noti.Imperial\/posts\/pfbid02ED3G1rxcVoCib1xxjP2kdabtHaHma9EosWGSPbrAJS8XKhFSHwqKgQvjnuqPdkoUl\">here<\/a>.
