Prayers wishing him to attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana were shared widely and these posts also praised the discipline of the soldier for not opening fire at the civilians, when they had attacked him, as seen below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"341\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-19.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3951\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-19.png 341w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-19-224x300.png 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/manosri.maheshika\/posts\/7627271347347740\">Facebook<\/a>| <a href=\"https:\/\/www.awesomescreenshot.com\/image\/30215506?key=0113ef763a2048742bc6088c21e746b7\">Archived<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is another post with the same narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/image-47.png?resize=427%2C404&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19720\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=553861359776855&amp;id=100054589870705\">Facebook<\/a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/2889wofu\">Archived<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fact Check<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?ref=search&amp;v=556263445962743&amp;external_log_id=1e434a3b-45e5-4b8b-bf80-8de87dd0da8e&amp;q=%E0%B6%B6%E0%B6%AD%E0%B7%8A%E0%B6%AD%E0%B6%BB%E0%B6%B8%E0%B7%94%E0%B6%BD%E0%B7%8A%E0%B6%BD%20%E0%B6%B4%E0%B7%9C%E0%B6%BD%E0%B7%8A%E0%B6%AF%E0%B7%96%E0%B7%80%20%E0%B6%B8%E0%B6%82%E0%B7%83%E0%B6%B1%E0%B7%8A%E0%B6%B0%E0%B7%92%E0%B6%BA\">the July 13th clashes<\/a> between anti-government protestors and Sri Lankan security forces at the Polduwa junction, closer to one of the entrances to the Sri Lankan  parliament , Sri Lankan security forces as well as protestors got injured and were hospitalized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Army spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne said that two army officers were seriously injured during the clashes with the protestors. The army spokesman said that a group had brutally assaulted the two soldiers on their heads and faces with iron rods, until they had become unconscious. It was also mentioned that two T-56 firearms in their possession were stolen. Below is the full announcement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fnewslk%2Fvideos%2F3306944986254283%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>An&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Media-on-2022.07.14-at-0720.pdf\">announcement<\/a>&nbsp;was also issued by the Police Media Division regarding the incident in Polduwa Junction on 13th July, which also said about the injuries to Army officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We then observed whether any of the mainstream media in Sri Lanka had reported the death of a soldier who got injured during the clashes with the protestors.
