This post was shared multiple times on Facebook congratulating Muttiah Muralidaran on being appointed as the governor for Northern Province. The names of the newly sworn in governors are given below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presidentsoffice.gov.lk\/index.php\/2019\/11\/21\/six-new-governors-sworn-in\/\">President\u2019s Office Web<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_6213649e4de75.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, the President at the Presidential Secretariat swore in two more governors for Eastern and North Central Provinces&nbsp; on 4<sup>th<\/sup> December, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presidentsoffice.gov.lk\/index.php\/2019\/12\/06\/two-new-governors-sworn-in\/\">President\u2019s Office Web<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After these appointments there was much anticipation about the Northern Province Governor position and Murali\u2019s was discussed as a possible candidate for the position. As rumors of Murali to be appointed as the governor of Northern Province gathered steam, Murali clarified that there was no truth behind these rumors and he has no interest in politics, during an interview with the Hindustan Times recently.
