Google Reverse Image Search on the viral image led us to the Getty Images<\/a> website, where we found the same image. According to the information, this image is from November 2012. Upon arrival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Messi and the Argentina team were escorted by security personnel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also found a similar image uploaded on the Alamy<\/a> website. According to the information, the security personnel escorted Lionel Messi as he arrived with his team in Riyadh on November 12, 2012. Argentina was scheduled to play a friendly soccer match with Saudi Arabia.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report by Metro News<\/a>, on 13 November 2012, Argentina\u2019s soccer team arrived in Saudi Arabia for a friendly match. Upon arrival at the airport, Messi was escorted by security guards. At that moment, one of the security guard\u2019s guns ended up pointing toward Messi\u2019s face, leading to a stunned look on his face. No news report was available to back the claim that Messi was previously arrested in Saudi Arabia.
