An attached video to that viral social media post is seen below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" webkitallowfullscreen=\"\" mozallowfullscreen=\"\" allowfullscreen=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.awesomescreenshot.com\/embed?id=13475215&amp;shareKey=8107ab4848438f88c289086cd36a8a46\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ourvadodara\/videos\/1815238505500833\/\">Facebook<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The posts were viral on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"502\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-48-502x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5076\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-48-502x1024.png 502w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-48-147x300.png 147w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-48.png 510w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 502px) 100vw, 502px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The story was viral on WhatsApp also in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"312\" height=\"544\" src=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5075\" srcset=\"https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47.png 312w, https:\/\/srilanka.factcrescendo.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/image-47-172x300.png 172w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 312px) 100vw, 312px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fact Check<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>First, we did a keyword search and found related news reports. Famous Indian media sites, First Post and New Indian Express reported that while the incident was true, it had happened on Kavaratti Island, the capital of the Union Territory, Lakshadweep, and not in Kerala. This venture was led by a vlogger named Mohammed Swadikh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cBefore Argentina\u2019s semi-final match against Croatia, a local vlogger named Mohammed Swadikh pledged to plant a cut-out of the legend in the sea via a Facebook post. La Albiceleste lived up to the expectations and crushed Luka Modric\u2019s side 3-0 in a dominant show<\/em>.\u201d the First Post article says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to New Indian Express, Mohammed Swadikh says, \u201c<em>When Saudi Arabia trounced Argentina, I had written in social media that \u2018Every defeat is a precursor to a victory and Argentina will stage a comeback.\u2019 Many people trolled me, but Argentina staged a comeback. I caught some yellow fish from the lagoon and announced that I will fry it if Argentina wins. After Argentina trounced Croatia in the semi-final, I organized a biriyani feast for my friends at mid-sea. It was at that time I announced the decision to install a cut out in the sea<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The media also reported that the cut out was 4 m high and made using waterproof materials placed firmly in the coral reef named, The Wall of Wonder at a depth of around 100 feet, and it cannot be drifted away easily. And the reports also reveal that Swadikh got support from the Lakshadweep Scuba Adventure team to place the cut-out. We depend on Kerala for education, treatment and to buy things. I have done my graduation from MES College in Aluva, Kerala. The team involved with me in installing the cut-out comprises natives of Lakshadweep.
