Rare human qualities like kindness and honesty emerge in various aspects of society. Such good qualities emerge and surprise the audience even in very competitive sporting events. Information about those occasions is being spread on social media. However, some posts are misleading. This is our investigation into such misleading social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Media Posts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social media posts are based on an image, say, a following story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was only a few meters from the finish line but needed clarification with the signs and stopped, thinking he had finished the race. BA Spanish man, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting to the Kenyan to keep running. Mutai did not know Spanish and needed help understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Realizing what was going on, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reporter asked Ivan, “Why did you do this?” <\/em>Ivan replied, “My dream is that one day we can have some sort of community life where we push ourselves and also others to win.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reporter insisted, “But why did you let the Kenyan win?”<\/em> Ivan replied, “I didn’t let him win, he was going to win. The race was his.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reporter insisted and asked again, “But you could have won!”<\/em> Ivan looked at him and replied: “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of this medal? What would my Mother think of it?”<\/em> The values are transmitted from generation to generation. What values do we teach our children, and how much do you inspire others to earn? Most of us take advantage of people’s weaknesses instead of helping to strengthen them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We found out that the story in the social media post is true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
