Sri Lankan students who appeared in the 2022 GCE A\/L exam in early 2023 have been eagerly anticipating their results for several months. Against this backdrop, numerous social media posts have emerged claiming that the exam results have already been made available. Given the significant importance of this examination within the context of Sri Lanka’s educational landscape, we investigated the accuracy of these widespread rumors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is one such instance of a social media post stating that the 2022 G.C.E Advanced Level (A\/L) Examination results have been released on August 12th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the GCE A\/L 2022 exam results have yet to be officially released by the Examination Department as of our last update. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact Check :<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Since we could not find any credible information online related to the release of A\/L results, we reached out to the Sri Lanka Examination Department to verify this claim. We communicated directly with Amith Jayasundara, the Commissioner General of the Sri Lanka Examination Department. He confirmed that the exam results are yet to be released, and the department anticipates releasing the results by the end of the current month, August 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we noticed previous statements<\/a> from the Education Minister, Susil Premajayantha, indicating that the results are expected to be released around the middle of August, which probably spurred the social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2022 A Level General Certificate of Studies Examination occurred between January 23rd and February 17th of the current year (2023). Two hundred seventy-eight thousand one hundred ninety-six candidates from schools and 53,513 private candidates participated in this examination, with 2,200 examination centers set up across the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From our investigation, it can be concluded that the GCE A\/L 2022 exam results are yet to be released at the date of writing this article (August 14th). The Commissioner General suggests that the results are forthcoming, and all efforts are in place to release the results at the earliest possible date before the end of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t
