Yet some social media users have questioned the veracity and even some have believed this to be a real incident. Let’s look at the claim first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Facebook user<\/a> uploaded a short clip of an old woman sitting on a hospital bed with a birthday cake on November 9, 2023. Such claims, that the grandmother was 300 years old, were shared numerous times on Facebook, eliciting a range of responses and sentiments from people in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact Check<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We performed a Google Reverse Image Search, which led us to find the following facts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A photo of the exact same shape was found and posted by a Facebook user named \u201cAntonio Di Lernia<\/a>\u201d on November 6, 2023. The picture above is made with artificial intelligence (AI) technology only. The following is an excerpt from a post by the social media user described in Italian as \u201cAuguriiiiiii<\/em><\/strong>,\u201d or \u201cWish<\/em><\/strong>\u201d in English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the source remains unknown, we further employed AI detection tools, Hive Moderation<\/a> and Is it AI?<\/a>, to analyze it. Both tools strongly suggested that the image was artificially generated rather than a genuine photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of May, 2025, the oldest living person whose age has been officially validated is Ethel Caterham of the United Kingdom<\/a>. Ethel Caterham holds the current record for longevity among living people according to the most recent verified lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact Crescendo found that the photos implied to be a real photo of a grandma celebrating her 300th birthday, and a photo of a 259-year-old man, are misleading. The first photo was posted by Facebook user \u201cAntonio Di Lernia\u201d and produced by artificial intelligence technology (AI) only. And the latter photo is created using AI also. The oldest ever recorded woman was aged 122 years, nowhere close to 300 or 259 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
