However, there have been instances where footage of foreign locations is mistakenly shared as scenes from Sri Lanka, leading to confusion and misinformation regarding the country's attractions.

Video Source: The video was initially shared on social media without any specific location mentioned. However, through digital forensics tools like Invid We Verify, it was traced back to Joshua Paltillero, an adventurer and photographer, who uploaded it to his Instagram account. The original video can be reached here.

Confirmation from Joshua Paltillero: Upon reaching out to Joshua Paltillero via email, he confirmed that the location of the video was in Hawaii, United States, not Sri Lanka, as claimed in the viral video.

Investigation of Waterfalls in Hawaii: Further investigation led to the identification of an area in Hawaii known as Mount Waialeale in Kauai. The characteristics of this location, including multiple waterfalls and similar geographical features, tally with those observed in the viral video.

Conclusion:

The popular viral video with the claim that was filmed in Sri Lanka is misleading. Despite what has been suggested, it wasn't shot in this South Asian country. In reality, this widely shared video across social media was filmed somewhere else entirely. The real filming location is Hawaii, the United States.
