Did South Indian Actor Sathish visit Sri Lanka in 2019 ?

Sathish Muthukrishnan is an Indian film actor and comedian working in the Tamil film industry.

He had visited Sri Lanka last year (2018). But some news websites have carried stories that he had visited Sri Lanka in September 2019

We decided to check the fact in this story.

Gossip Lanka News Facebook Page had shared a news regarding Indian Tamil actor Sathish Kumar, in which it was claimed that the actor visited Sri Lanka on September 23^rd and was in tears when he visited former LTTE leader Prabhakaran’s house.

Website link was attached to the Facebook post and few other websites and Facebook posts had shared the same story.

Fact Check

We used Google Reverse Image tool to find out the instances of this image being uploaded to the internet.

From our search we found that this image was originally uploaded to the internet in year 2018.

We found one link in which actor Sathish had shared this image on his Twitter profile.

We were able to find the same image being shared on his Facebook and Instagram profiles as well.

From our research we found that all the images that have been published were taken from actor Sathish’s visit to Sri Lanka last year (2018) and all the images were available in his social media profiles.

While Sathish Muthukrishnan is the actor’s name used in social profiles he is known among cinema fans around the world as Sathish Kumar. We did a Google search and confirmed that Sathish Kumar is indeed Sathish Muthukrishnan.

Conclusion:

From our investigation, we conclude that, the news regarding Tamil comedy actor Sathish visiting Sri Lanka this (2019) September is false. However the images related to his visit are correct. Sathish visited Sri Lanka in 2018, September.
