Official University Channels:

A thorough review of the official University of Peradeniya website and its verified social media pages revealed no announcements or information regarding offering free online courses. However, the official website of Peradeniya University says the advertisements on FB and other social media about online courses are bogus. The Facebook page of the Public Relations Division of the University of Peradeniya also explicitly denied these social media claims. The division clarified that the social media posts about free online courses are false and should not be trusted.

Professor Terrence Madujith, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, confirmed to Fact Crescendo that the university does not offer ongoing free online courses and does not plan to start such courses in the near future.

Professor Madujith emphasized that, per the state policy, the university only offers free internal undergraduate degree programs to local students who qualify through their Advanced Level (A/L) examinations.
