We went to the links mentioned in the social media posts. However, those links are not working now, and despite being spread on social media, there are no website links currently.
However, we saw in some social media posts that the linked website said to spread the message to around five people when the links worked.
Interestingly, there are ways to identify these false social media posts.
- The URLs mentioned in the social media posts are ambiguous and not related to the official website of Qatar Airways.
- When you click the link, you are connected to some other website and not Qatar Airways
- And those scammers are asking you to share the link with many people.

As per our investigation, we were able to find out that Qatar Airways-related travel subsidies, such as New Year’s gift-related messages and weblinks, are false. The ambiguous links connect people to suspicious sites, not Qatar Airways’ official websites. The official website of Qatar Airways does not mention real subsidy giveaways like that. But the official website warns about such scams and advises people to be aware of such things.
