Many nature lovers make it a point to capture breathtaking views during their travels; these images go viral on social media. However, at times the public gets misled by some of the narrations associated with such amazing sceneries. This is one of our investigations on a mountain range covered with snow, purported to be scenes of Mount Everest. Let’s look at the claim first.

Social Media Posts

Facebook posts claimed that the photo below depicts the highest peak in the Himalayas Mountain range, Mount Everest, the tallest mountain peak on Earth.

“Mount Everest in the winter. It has snow on top year-round, but it's far more inhospitable and intimidating when it's all thickly blanketed of snow. All because avalanches occur if disturbed and bury anything down it's path.”
