Jackie Chan is a world-renowned Hong Kong actor, martial artist, film director, and stuntman, born on April 7, 1954. He is best known for his incredible stunts, action comedy films, and contributions to both Eastern and Western cinema.

No Major Media Reports on His Death

Despite viral rumours, no International mainstream news outlet or other major media has reported Jackie Chan’s death. On the contrary, all recent press continues to feature him actively engaged and healthy, confirming the death rumours are baseless.

On August 4th, the Golden State Warriors’ official X (formerly Twitter) account shared a photo of Jimmy Butler with Jackie Chan, taken during Butler’s visit to Beijing, China. The funeral image is AI-generated

Although the man in the image shares facial features similar to Jackie Chan, the photo shows several signs commonly seen in AI-generated visuals. To verify this, we used an AI image detection tool, which confirmed that the image was indeed created using artificial intelligence.

At 71 years old, Chan made a rare appearance at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards, receiving a standing ovation and introducing the award for Best Foreign Film. He was described as lively and humorous at the event. In interviews, he reaffirmed his dedication to performing all his own stunts, stating, “That’s not changing until the day I retire, which is never!” despite the physical risks. 

He stars in the 2025 film “Karate Kid: Legends”, reprising his role as Mr. Han alongside Ralph Macchio. Filmed and released as planned, the film is actively promoted. Jackie Chan holds the Guinness World Record for the “Most stunts performed by a living actor“. He earned this title in 2012 for his film “Chinese Zodiac” (CZ12), where he also set another record for “Most credits in one movie”.

With a career spanning over six decades, Jackie has appeared in more than 150 films. As of 2025, the 71-year-old actor is alive and well, actively involved in the film industry.

Between July 23 and 29, heavy rains caused severe flooding in Beijing, leaving at least 44 people dead. The worst flooding the capital has seen since 2012. By the afternoon of August 4, over 70,000 residents had been evacuated. Authorities also warned the public to stay alert as more heavy rainfall was expected.
