This is an old video from Syria and shows militia forces loyal to the Syrian government stab two detainees.
Amid the ongoing Israel- Palestine war, a disturbing video allegedly shows Israeli soldiers torturing Palestinians has gone viral on social media. In the viral video, one of the men seemed to have bled to death while the other was being stabbed and tortured.
The caption of the post states, “Occupying Israeli soldiers sadistically stab and torture Palestinian civilians! Zionists are more dangerous than the devil!
Fact Check-
We started the investigation with a reverse image search on Google and the results led us to a longer version of the video on Youtube, dated 2 January, 2013, uploaded by Daraa and Houran News. “The Shabiha squad is slaughtering civilians with knives,” read the headline, translated from Arabic.
Keeping this in mind, a keyword search led us to an Al Arabiya news report, published on 2 January, 2013 carrying a screen grab of the viral video. “An internet video posted by Syrian rebels appears to show fighters loyal to President Bashar al-Assad stabbing two men to death and stoning them with concrete blocks in a summary execution lasting several minutes.”
The viral video predates the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. It has no link to the current war.
Conclusion-
Fact Crescendo found the claim made along with the viral video to be False. An old video of 2013 is being falsely shared linking to ongoing Israel- Palestine war.
