The Election Commission uses the same voter list for the general election 2024 as for the recently concluded Presidential Election.
So, the voters who have registered with the Election Commission but might not have received or misplaced their official polling cards can still get a duplicate copy through the Election Commission’s official website by following these steps.
1. Visit the Election e-Services website at https://eservices.elections.gov.lk/pages/home.aspx
2. Refer to the e-service “Voter Registration Details Search” from its citizens reference.
3. Enter the National Identity Card number and the district where you are registered.
4. Click “Voter Registration Details for Election – Parliamentary Election – 2024” at the top of the corresponding information.
5. You can see your voter registration information on the roll used for the 2024 parliamentary elections here.
6. Enter your mobile number below. After confirmation, you will receive a code (OTP) on your mobile phone. Enter the code in the place where it says “Enter the code” and download a copy of your official polling card.
The Election Commission has also announced that an official polling card is not compulsory to cast your vote. Any registered voter whose name is included in the 2024 voter list can still vote in the 2024 general election at their respective polling station after validating their identity using a valid ID card.
However, by utilising the online process to get a duplicate polling card, you can easily avoid any unnecessary delays that may occur on election day.
