However, is the lady seen in the viral video the famed Vyjayanthimala?
We did a reverse image search and found a few media reports. According to those reports from 2022, the lady who dances in the video was 93 years old at that time. She danced while the background music played, which was related to Bollywood veteran Shammi Kapoor’s song, Badan Pe Sitaare Lapate Huye. A report can be found here: Archived. Nowhere in the report is she mentioned as Vyjayanthimala.
We further searched this and found various reports. Some such news items can be reached here and here.
As per the reports above, an account named Narender Singh shared the video on X. “At the age of 93, Shammi Kapoor’s magic on grandmother…”. Narendra Singh tweeted on 5 December 2022. Nowhere in the published reports has it been said that the grandmother in the video is Vyjayanthimala.
In further search, we found recent news items about Vijayanthimala and images about her. The outlook impression of the lady in the viral video differs from Vaijayanthi Mala’s. Such a report of India Today, published in January 2025, can be found here.
Sharing the video on his Instagram account, Girijashankar Sundaresan recently expressed his admiration for Vyjayanthimala: ” It was an absolute honour to share the stage with Padma Vibhushan Dr Vyjayanthimala Bali Amma. Her grace, talent, and legacy continue to inspire us all. I am grateful to be part of this magical experience! Cherishing this moment forever (sic).”

Conclusion
As per our investigation, we found out that the lady in the viral dancing video is not Vyjayanthimala but a different lady who was 93 when the video first went viral back in 2022. Born in 1933, Wijayanthi Mala is 91 years old, not 98. Viral social media claims are misleading.
